Organizer

The organizer of the Marine Industry Forum is Murator EXPO, in close partnership with POLBOAT, the Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports.

Marine Industry Forum in Katowice, the first such B2B event in Poland, took place between November 10 and 11, 2017 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.  It gathered numerous representatives of the yacht industry at the International Congress Centre , an outstanding multifunctional service facility offering total floor surface area of 34 899m2 for the visitors, speakers and exhibitors participating at the event. Located in the very heart of Katowice, the technological forum created a unique opportunity for participants from all over the world to get acquainted with the latest technologies and innovative finishing materials, scientific research carried out by Polish and foreign universities and research institutes,  as well as latest technological  innovations presented in the Startup Zone.

Marine Industry Forum was accompanied by the second Silesian WIND and WATER Boat Show

Furthermore, participants of the first edition of the Marine Industry Forum got a unique opportunity to visit the Silesian WIND and WATER Boat Show, simultaneously held next to the forum at the International Conference Center in Katowice, gathered around 200 exhibitors and 30 000 visitors.

Special guests from Poland and Italy

Special guest speaker of the Start-up Zone was Ernest Syska – founder of the company Veo Glass. Ernest is the inventor of an innovative  software system for maritime and inland navigation. During his session, he remarkably presented the advantages of VEO navigation compared to traditional solutions.

Furthermore, Enrico Benco –  co-founder of the Italian company GS4C (partner of Isomatex) caught special attention of the visitors by vividly presenting his innovative project of a sail racing boat, designed over the Mini650 box rule and entirely built with C2C recyclable aerospace grade mineral fiber and low embodied energy bio-based epoxy resin, Loop650.

A heated debate has also arisen around the topic presented by an eminent Italian scientist, doctor Stefano Castegnaro who, on the example of two flax/balsa/epoxy 4.6 m racing sailboats, presented current and future  trends of biocomposites in the yacht industry.
