The Fair in Katowice
WIND and WATER Warsaw International Boat Show is the biggest and the oldest trade fair event in the field of water sports and recreation in Poland. The first edition took place in 1990 in Zegrze. Since 1991 the fair have been organized in early spring in Warsaw. Starting from 200, the WIND and WATER Fair has had its summer edition by the sea.
Now we decided to start a new edition – Silesian WIND and WATER Boat Show in Katowice.
KATOWICE for a change!
Between 4 and 6 November, Katowice hosted the first edition of the WIND and WATER Silesian Boat Show. The most beautiful yachts, luxurious motorboats, the fastest jet skis, modern sailing and motorboating equipment will be presented at the International Conference Centre, located in the very heart of Katowice. In total, almost 200 exhibitors were presenting their offer at the 1st WIND and WATER Silesian Boat Show.
Setting up the WIND and WATER Boat Show in Katowice, we recognize the huge potential of the region, which while lacking natural opportunities for water sports remains one of the strongest and most active sailing regions in Poland. The history of sailing in Silesia goes back to the 1920s, and now Silesia has become a veritable haven for enthusiasts of water sports, whose numbers grow each year. The training offer is constantly expanding, and sailing has become a multigenerational sport in many Silesian families. Silesians going in for water sports can be found on rivers, lakes and seas all over the world.
At the WIND and WATER Boat Show in Katowice all enthusiasts of water sports could find something for themselves. The largest Polish yacht yards, among them: Galeon, Delphia Yachts, Parker Poland, Balt Yacht, Northman, Dalpol, Antila, Mariner Yacht, and Eskapader; as well as numerous importers of foreign brands of boats and yachts: Power Boats Poland, Astex, M&YC, Dobre Jachty, Dedi Marine, Skyboat, Marinero, Yachts & Yachting were present in Katowice. The exhibitors’ offers also included rubber dinghies, RIBs, jet skis, sailing equipment, engines, safety and rescue equipment, navigation equipment and yacht electronics. Producers and distributors of sailing and sports clothing presented their offers as well, and tourist regions proposed their active recreation opportunities – both on water and at the waterside. Furthermore, water tourist trails, charter companies, sailing regions, marinas and other interesting places for water sports promoted themselves at the Boat Show.
The partner of the event is Magazyn Żagle, its sponsor is Henri Lloyd, and the Co-host City is Katowice. The Fair is organized by Yacht EXPO, and the executive organizer is Murator EXPO.
The WIND and WATER Boat Show in Katowice will be continuing the tradition of the Warsaw-based edition, which has been held regularly for almost three decades and which is the largest and oldest exhibition event of the water sports and recreation industry in Poland and a major event on the global scale. Judging by the huge interest in the Warsaw Boat Show among exhibitors, we are certain that the Silesian WIND and WATER in Katowice will become a permanent element of the Polish calendar of boat shows, fairs and other water-related events and that it will become a broadly known and recognised brand.
