Motor boat beauties at the Boat Show

12.03.2016

For several years now – and best shown at the WIND and WATER Boat Show in Warsaw and its summer edition on water  in Gdynia –  the Polish recreational watercraft market has been becoming more similar to that in the developed countries of wealthy Western Europe. Almost all major players in this field already have their direct representations in Poland, and further key players will establish theirs in the coming season. Thus, any motor boat, regardless of size and prize, can be purchased in Poland and there is no need to go looking for a dealer all over the world. In many cases, the prices are more attractive, and this is certainly more convenient given both the purchase itself and the later maintenance and servicing. Not all of them will be showing their offers in Warsaw, but it is nonetheless worth visiting the exposition halls of the Trade Fair and Congress Centre MT Polska, where between 10 and 13 March visitors will have the opportunity to see many of the beauties available in the Polish motor boat market. The winners of the last edition of our competition for the Yacht of the Year in Poland 2016 will not be among them, unfortunately, but the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 695 was presented in Warsaw last year and the Galeon 500 Fly had its official premiere in Gdynia in August; the Fountaine Pajot MY 37 could not be delivered for logistical reasons. The candidates in the new edition of this competition, however, will certainly be there.

Most interesting announcements

One of the absolutely most interesting new motor boat constructions announced to appear in the coming season is the motor yacht of the Olecko-based Delphia – Delphia Escape 1150V. In this issue of “Żagle”, in a report from the German boat show, we write about the success of its January premiere in Düsseldorf. Our export brand could not fail the Polish recipients: it announced that the vessel will be officially presented in Warsaw as well.

The latest motor boats by another of our export producers, Parker Poland, will represent a slightly different segment. Parker 690 DC will certainly be the highlight and a reason for concern among the competition. We will also see the smaller 630 Sport, winner of many awards, and perhaps also the new 770, as well as the older 660 and 800 models but in slightly modified designs. Parker Poland is, however, not only about boats; they also produce a wide range of different engines (Merkury, MerCruiser, Vetus) as well as electronics and equipment.

I also recommend the beautiful and stylish motor yacht Coremate T-27, produced in the Augustów-baased Balt Yacht but this time presented at the stand of Marinero. Reportedly it has become the favourite boat of the King of Norway. Another candidate for the ‘Highlight of the Fair’ award will certainly be the Bavaria 400 Coupe, displayed at the stand of Yachts & Yachting.

Finally, the new model of Jeanneau – Merry Fisher 795 (which has a thoroughly Polish heritage, however), presented at the stand of the Polish representative of the French brand –Dobre Jachty, is also worth seeing. This model is destined to achieve international success as well.

The largest expositions

One of the largest stands at the Boat Show will be housing the exposition of Power Boat Poland, the representative of many various motor boat giants. Its highlights will include two yachts, both more than 40 feet long: the Azimut 43 Atlantis and the Beneteau Gran Turismo 40, as well as smaller but equally interesting Cobalts (243 and 200S), Grandezza 27, Antares 7.80 and Sea Rays (19, 21, 250 and 265 Sundancer) .

Another large exposition has been announced by S-Yachts, the commercial branch of Stocznia Ślepsk.

The hit of the 2015 season – the Axopar 28, 7 bayliners and 4 smartliners are evidence of serious expansion to the domestic market.

As usual, Galeon will have a large stand, although by the time of publication we have not managed to obtain any details. The exposition will surely have some interesting yachts; the question is whether they can be brought to Warsaw without taking them away from the dealers – motor yachts of our local tycoon sell like the proverbial hot cakes.

Another stand with a broad and varied offer will be that of the Gdańsk-based Taurus. Next to their flagship products, the Evinrude engines including the famous second generation model (G2), the latest engines by Yanmara, the gas engines Lehr and the electrical engines Flover, bow thrusters and various types of maritime equipment, I recommend taking a look at the most powerful jet skis available in the market: the Sea Doo RXP 300 and the GTX LTD 300, both boasting 300KM!

New and interesting offers

It is simply impossible to list everything in this brief announcement; one simply has to come to the Boat Show and see everything for him/herself. There is something for everyone. Enthusiasts of houseboats will enjoy the Balt Tytan 818 by Balt Yacht, the Calipso 22 by Calipso Yacht, the SM-30 by Sudnik M-Yachts, while fans of dynamic motor boats will be thrilled with the Draco 27 RS and Windy 31 Zonda by Skyboats, the Super Air Nautique 210 by Surf 7. And these are only a few of the many boats available in Poland and exhibited at the Boat Show.

Yamaha is preparing a large exposition, including their well-tried and extremely popular engines as well as some excellent jet skies from the new line that we have presented on many occasions in “Żagle”.

It will be thrilling. Come and see for yourself!
